Mostmortem Presents: What's Daddy Doing?
My dear readers, while I am not what some might call a “news junkie,” I cannot help but notice that there seems to be a bit of a bug going around. Some folks have made staying at home a serious priority. Personally, I am no great stranger to bolting the doors, shuttering the curtains and avoiding all contact with the outside world. But these conditions do present something of a problem when it comes to continuing work on our original media content. Initially I thought I might take up a camera myself and film a series of expressive shorts starring my sweet Penny Dee but alas, this experiment ended rather quickly due to overwhelming complications. While the camera never seems to have any difficulty capturing the scenery, Penny was always conspicuously absent from the final product. Obviously this is the result of a technical problem with the camera itself that I, a mere layman, am unable to resolve.
It is then that we decided to set about producing our first narrative short without the benefit of actors, sets, microphones or even cameras. It was something of a logistical handicap, to be sure, but I believe we have come out the other side with something worthy of exhibition. And so it gives me great pleasure to present the first of these unusual filmmaking excursions, What’s Daddy Doing? It is a short horror film assembled entirely from “stock” footage and with vocal work by a jolly cast of automatons. I believe it more than satisfies the social distancing guidelines laid out by medical professionals and I hope that it may provide a moment of distraction during these anxious and isolated times.
Yours eternally,
P.G. Hauntedhouse
