Mostmortem Presents: Bells

A still from Bells, our second Mostmortem Media production

My dear readers, the week of Halloween is finally upon us! Of course, as some may have noticed, conventional festivities have become inadvisable for this particular calendar year. And at first, some of us in the Hauntedhouse household pondered how to properly observe such an occasion if the usual sorts of gatherings were not to be expected. I must say, I put the old bean to the task for some time and while I fancy that some of my suggestions were rather good, most of them involved decorative displays that require a great deal more structural integrity and ventilation access than our house currently allows. But then my sweet Penny Dee chanced upon an idea that was far more practical and much less likely to draw the attention of our local zoning board.

As some of you may recall, we released a “teaser” for Bells, a short piece we had produced in April of 2019. I am pleased to report that the film has completed a successful run of the festival circuit. It appeared at the 50th Annual Nashville Film Festival, earned two best film award nominations and, grandest honor of all, its style was described by Heather Langenkamp, star of Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street, as “exactly what Wes would have done.” With these distinctions, we are confident that we can now move forward in offering this little sliver of cinema to the moviegoing public.

And so, it gives me the greatest of thrills to present to this film to you, our gracious readers, appearing for the first time in a “virtual” setting. It features lovely performances by Destin Khari and Heinley Gaspard, as fine a pair of thespians as one will find anywhere. Please enjoy and however you choose to celebrate it, have the happiest of Halloweens.

Yours eternally,

P.G. Hauntedhouse
